Frequently asked questions

What is psychodynamic therapy?

Psychodynamic therapy explores how your unconscious thoughts and past experiences might affect the way you feel and behave today. It is about therapist and client working together, goal-setting and identifying recurring patterns in your feelings, thoughts and relationships in order to achieve lasting change.

How long is a therapy session?

Regular sessions are 50 minutes long and are held at the same weekly time. All my appointments take place online.

What if I miss one of my regular sessions?

I do charge for sessions cancelled at short notice (less than 48 hours).

How do I pay for sessions?

Sessions are paid for in advance via bank transfer.

Can I pay via my medical insurance?

I am registered with Aviva, AXA and Vitality Health. Please contact them in the first instance. Clients with medical insurance are responsible for ensuring that their fees are paid in full.

Privacy policy: how confidential are my sessions?

I take your privacy very seriously and maintain strict confidentiality with the client/therapist relationship at all times. I collect personal information about clients directly from themselves when they contact me via telephone e-mail or through my website. I may share your information with your doctor, psychiatrist, insurance company or other third parties where you give your consent. I may share your information with law enforcement agencies if required to do so in connection with any investigation into potential unlawful activity. I will comply with data protection laws including GDPR.
