About Jamie
A little bit about me
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Choosing the right therapist is an important part of that process. Before deciding on whether to get in touch with me, it's helpful to have a sense of the person you'll be talking to and how they work.
I'm a psychodynamic counsellor working with adults experiencing anxiety, overthinking and the emotional pressures that can build up over time. What drew me to counselling was a growing appreciation of how our experiences shape the way we think, feel and relate to others. I believe that understanding ourselves more deeply can create lasting change.
One of the most important things I've learned as a professional therapist is that our burdens can become easier to carry once they're shared, through conversation.
I offer a calm, thoughtful space where you can speak openly, feel genuinely heard and explore whatever feels important to you.

How I work
A thoughtful approach
You don't need to have everything worked out before coming to therapy, and there isn't a right or wrong place to begin. We'll take time to think together about whatever feels important to you, with curiosity, care and compassion.
Some sessions may focus on what's happening in your life now, while others gently uncover patterns in your thoughts, feelings and relationships. Rather than rushing to find solutions, we'll work towards a deeper understanding of your experiences.
Over time, this deeper understanding can make it easier to navigate life's challenges in different ways.
Do we just talk about the past?
One of the questions I often hear is, "Will we spend all our time talking about my childhood?" The simple answer is no.
Psychodynamic counselling isn't about dwelling on the past. It's about understanding how past experiences may still influence the way you think, feel and relate to others today. That understanding can help you make different choices and create lasting change.
